Sherborne Sensors is an established, innovative company based in ‘transducer valley’ in Hampshire, UK with a strong global customer base.
Sherborne Sensors’ core operations focus on the design and manufacture of precision Accelerometers, Inclinometers, and Load Cells. Our products enjoy unsurpassed industry standing for ultra-reliability and long-life precision in critical industrial applications.
While we offer a large range of standard off-the-shelf units to meet the requirements of many applications; a large percentage of our business is the manufacture of custom sensors to meet customer’s specific requirements.
Good design, high quality components, rigorous manufacturing and thorough testing processes have enabled Sherborne Sensors to achieve its reputation for quality worldwide.
Sherborne Sensors’ story begins in the 1940’s with the formation of Schaevitz Engineering; a US-based manufacturer of LVDTs and other precision sensors.
In 1974, prompted by sales success overseas, Schaevitz Engineering began manufacturing inertial products in the UK. Following the success of these products, a group of former UK Schaevitz Engineering employees purchased the inertial products business in 2002 and formed Sherborne Sensors Limited
In 2007, Sherborne Sensors extended its product range beyond inertial sensors by obtaining the Maywood Instruments force transducer product lines and intellectual property.
In 2012 Sherborne Sensors joined the Nova Metrix family and through this acquisition has extended its operation further; establishing a strong sales, client support networking and implementation operations in North America.
